Crestron App Market, feedback forums discussed at CSP CEDIA meeting

The Crestron Service Providers meeting at CEDIA Thursday, Sept. 26 featured Crestron’s technology managers fielding questions and the announcement of the Crestron App Market.

Technology Managers John Pavlik (Smart Graphics), Toine Leerentveld (Core 3 Processors), Jason Oster (Crestron Studio) and Byron Wendling (Touch Screens) discussed their teams’s accomplishments and future plans for their respective areas.

They all urged CSPs to visit Crestron Labs to report software and hardware issues as well as learn about alpha-stage products that Crestron plans to release.  Technology managers are looking for the community’s feedback on the products and noted that this was a prime opportunity to influence the product development process.

Crestron Application Marketing Team members Tom Barnett, Delia Hanson and Dominick Accurso fielded questions about the Crestron App Market that launched in September.  Following the discussion, the CSP Advisory Board concluded that the App Market would be the first topic of a series of CSP phone conferences that will begin in November.

Phone conferences to discuss business and technical issues received a high interest ranking (77 percent) in a survey of CSPs that was conducted over the summer.

The CAB is planning one-hour phone conferences and members will facilitate the meetings.  Feedback will be channeled to product development teams and technology managers at Creston.

Members of the CAB will be sending personal email invitations to those in their group. The CSP member list has been divided among them by time zone.  Please make sure the following emails are included in your email system’s “Friends” list:

CSP participation in this initiative is imperative to the future of the CSP program. Volunteers opportunities will also be available to assist with call facilitation. Contact Shelly Flynn if you are interested.
